Treating Back pain - the Yogic way

Lower Back Pain


Backache involves the lower part of the spine. It's because of normal wear and tear, gaps becoming narrow between vertebrae or vertebrae being shrunken, rubbed off, toxins getting accumulated.


Causes


· Wrong and faulty posture of sitting, standing, walking, or sleeping. Muscular weakness, obesity, arthritis, or osteoporosis. 

· Wearing high heels

· Sedentary lifestyle, lack of exercise 

· Stress

· Menstrual irregularity

· Lack of sleep or relaxation; sleeping on too soft a bed

 

Yogic Ways of Treating Lower Back Pain 


 1.  Food: Healthy diet; drink plenty of water; reduce tea and coffee intake. Avoid constipation, gas and stomach disorders.

2. Ananas: Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Salabhasana, Makarasana, but no forward-bending asanas- 3 repetitions.

3.     Relaxation: Savasana, Makarasana-10 minutes

4.     Pranayama: Anulom vilom-11 rounds
